Cinema Queen Malini Fonseka awarded Silver Peacock

SRI LANKA-Sri Lanka’s leading actress Malini Fonseka received the Silver Peacock award for best actress at International Film Festival of India held in Goa for her role in Prasanna Vithanage’s movie ‘Akasa Kusuma’.

Malini received an international award for her acting in the movie ‘Eya Den Loku Lamayek’ in 1970s at Tushkant film festival in Russia.

Prasanna Vithanage’s ‘Akasa Kusuma’ has not been shown in Sri Lanka so far and its inaugural show was held in Korea’s Pusan film festival. ‘Akasa Kusuma’ is a co-production of Prasanna Vithanage, H.D. Premasiri and Indian producer Shikar Prasad.
